This year, Christmas in July has inspired me to round up a few (or maybe a little more than a few!) of my favorite holiday family photos from years past. Leading up to the holiday season, I get to collaborate with my clients on capturing their family’s holiday and Christmas portraits. Incorporating festive and seasonal nods into these photos is special to celebrate this time of year. However, I also like to be intentional about keeping a timeless aspect to these photos to be enjoyed year-round.
Personally, I love winter and the colder temperatures that bring fall and winter clothing—currently missing that right now in July! These families did a beautiful job of dressing for the season in neutral and holiday tones. I enjoy being a resource for my clients as they are planning their outfits and giving insight on ensuring the outfits are cohesive with one another. It can be overwhelming to plan everyone’s outfits so I’m here to help alleviate that stress.
With growing families and kids of different ages, I like being creative with posing and props. How precious is the toy car with the tree on top? I encourage my clients to have fun and play, leading to candid and natural photos.
I hope you enjoyed this round-up of holiday photos! It is making me crave cooler weather. To browse more holiday photos, check out this blog post highlighting holiday mini-portraits.
