Newborn Photos at Two Months Old

During inquiries one of the number one questions I am asked is “when should we plan to schedule our newborn photos?” My answer is usually, although I prefer the first two weeks, that’s not always feasible for families. Up to two-three months is still do-able! Because of my lifestyle process, we can adapt to your schedule, whether it’s one week after you bring your little one home or two months!

This sweet babe was nearly two months old when we met up for her newborn portraits. I honestly loved that she was so alert, holding her head up for me and smiling at mom and dad. When they’re so little, these kinds of photos aren’t always possible.

I have done newborn portraits as late as three months, it really just depends. No newborn session is copy and paste the same, anyway. If there is one thing I have learned through working with babies (and being pregnant with one), it’s that we are at the liberty of their schedule. Not mine and not the parents’. Patience is key.

Mom kept remarking how baby girl had her dad’s eyelashes. When I hear things such as this, I always try to capture them specifically!

Another favorite of mine during newborn sessions is to step outside for a bit. Baby girl kept staring out the window, and it was a lovely June day (not yet hot and humid for Virginia summers) so we decided to step out a bit into the lush green backyard.

This also let her big fur brother join in for a few photos!
